Graham Stephen - Founder
After qualifying as a CA(SA), Graham spent 10 years working in numerous roles in listed banking institutions in Johannesburg, earning a reputation as a go-to guy for solving large and complex problems.
Seeking a change in career and lifestyle direction, he moved to Cape Town in 2013, joining a fledgling financial services startup focusing on financial inclusion in East and West Africa in both the consumer and SME spaces, successfully developing and incubating 2 Fintech businesses.
Thereafter, he spent 2.5 years as part of a turn-around of a South African based Fintech, before joining a global personal finance firm as a commercial executive and business development partner for their South African operations.
He is actively involved as an advisor to a social impact NPO, as well as a mentor and business coach to various startup businesses, accelerators and incubators.
Barry Morisse
Barry qualified as a CA(SA) and spent 3 years in investment banking and data science, bridging the gap between large corporate clients and smaller technology startups to bring innovation into a complacent banking industry.
Looking to gain some international experience, he joined a startup that designed and facilitated global immersion trips for local South African entrepreneurs. He successfully orchestrated a number of these experiences to some of the most important technology hubs around the world such as New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Berlin, Amsterdam, Bangalore and others.
After living out of a bag for 18 months, he has returned to Johannesburg to focus his attention on bringing his unique combination of business and technology experience to assist high-growth startups on the African continent.
He is also very involved with academic research into the ethics of artificial intelligence (AI) and its range of socio-economic, political and psychological effects on our world.
